Last week, Facebook (META -1.39%) unveiled its new Home layer of services and features that sits on top of Google (GOOGL -1.37%) Android. This is the perfect mobile strategy for the social network, since it won't have to compete directly with primary platforms such as Android and Apple (AAPL -2.88%) iOS. Instead, it can ride their success and further engage users by being a secondary platform. Facebook has scored integration within iOS, but Apple's controlling ways mean it couldn't get the level of integration that Home offers.
