The cover-up is worse than the crime. 

That's what comes to mind when I think about Bank of America's (BAC -1.07%) ongoing marketing campaign. Sure, the commercials are nice and all that. But they completely miss the point. There's no question that Bank of America needs to repair its image. To do that, however, it doesn't need a fancy and expensive marketing blitz. All it needs to do is apologize to its customers.
