EPS came in at $1.22. The 27 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $1.17 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $1.22 for Q1 were 0.8% lower than the prior-year quarter's $1.23 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.41 for Q1 were 15% higher than the prior-year quarter's $1.23 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 33.5%, 120 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 25.2%, 150 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 16.4%, 170 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
