General Motors (NYSE:GM) has lost a fortune in Europe over the past decade-plus: more than $17 billion since 1999. Those losses finally began to narrow in the first quarter, thanks to some painful restructuring -- and thanks to a new hit product, the Opel Mokka SUV.
