Netflix (NFLX +0.43%) may have the wrong approach to creating a buzz around its original programming. Since it releases entire seasons all at once, it encourages binge viewing and causes viewers to watch the show at their own pace. Ultimately, this delivery method could be taking away from the so-called water cooler effect, where word of mouth helps drive new viewers.
