Like a climbing plane, Boeing's (BA -0.20%) commercial deliveries are rising higher. The company released delivery figures for its Q2, revealing that it shipped a total of 169 commercial aircraft. This number overwhelmingly consisted of shipments of the 737 Next Generation, 116 of which made their way to customers. Second on the list was the 777, at 23, followed by the 787 (16).
That total was 23% higher than Q1's tally of 137 planes and eclipsed Q2 2012's figure of 150 by 13%.
Year to date, Boeing has shipped 306 commercial aircraft, compared with 287 in the same period in 2012.
In terms of defense, space, and security products, the company delivered a total of 31, including 12 F/A-18E/F and EA-18G fighter jets and eight Chinook helicopters. That overall total was 43 in Q1, and 36 in Q2 2012.
