Vancouver, Canada-based Westport Innovations (WPRT 0.45%) has a new COO.
On Friday, Westport announced that member of its board of directors Nancy Gougarty has resigned her seat to join the company's employment as President and Chief Operating Officer. A former executive at TRW Automotive, General Motors, and Delphi, Gougarty had served on Westport's board since February of this year.
The company said Gougarty's move is "part of Westport's progression from research and development into an organization focussed on the global commercialization of a wide range of products." The company praised her "experience in product delivery execution from her roles in the global automotive sector." Westport engineers natural gas engines and vehicles.
In an unrelated SEC filing Friday, the company confirmed that it will be releasing its fiscal Q2 earnings results on Aug. 1, after close of trading.
