Microsoft (MSFT +0.60%) has released Internet Explorer 11 Developer Preview for Windows 7 to help developers create apps faster.
To entice developers onto IE11, Microsoft offered three enhancements. First, the Seattle-based company offered a discount of 25% for 2,500 versions of Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac. Second, it made IE11 Preview available on virtual machines for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 so that developers can test their programs in these versions of Windows. Third, Microsoft released a one-click scanning tool to help developers see how their sites look across different browsers and devices so they can build better experiences.
In addition, Microsoft has updated its modern.IE -- a set of tools and resources aimed at helping developers create for the web and IE. With the new features, modern.IE lets developers build more securely and supports older versions of Internet Explorer.
