Dunkin' Brands (DNKN +0.00%) is going on vacation.
On Monday, the purveyor of coffee and doughnuts announced that it has opened up new locations in two Great Wolf Lodge resorts -- specifically, the resorts in Traverse City, Mich., and in Williamsburg, Va. Actually, both locations have already been up and running for some weeks now. According to Dunkin', the Williamsburg location opened on May 18, and the Traverse City locale just two weeks later, on June 1.
Grant Benson, Dunkin' Brands vice president of franchising and business development, explained that "partnerships with Great Wolf Lodge and other lodging properties are a continued focus for ... growth in alternative points of distribution" for Dunkin'. They also, incidentally, keep the company in contention with its coffee brewing archrival Starbucks (SBUX +0.40%), which also occupies space in Great Wolf locations.
Dunkin' notes that in addition to serving "a variety of donuts, muffins, and croissants; and oven toasted breakfast sandwiches," its in-resort restaurants will also offer "hot and iced coffee and espresso beverages."
