New data from Gartner suggests total revenue from mobile app stores such as Google's Play and Apple's iTunes App Store is on pace to grow 44% this year after more than doubling in 2012.
Most signs also point to at least a half-billion Gmail users and rising adoption of Google Apps at the corporate level. CEO Larry Page needs to beef up investments in app infrastructure to unleash all the available horsepower in Google's growth machine, Tim says.
