This past quarter, we saw several oil services companies suffer because so many players in the pressure pumping space sent contract prices through the floor. Despite the emerging importance of the treatment of fracking water, the actual business of water treatment may start to suffer from oversupply as have other more traditional oil services. Moreover, new offerings from oil service giants Halliburton (HAL) and Baker Hughes (BHI) could drastically change the dynamics of the industry. 

Taking a step back and looking at the entire space, the treatment of hydraulic fracturing water is still a very young industry. Furthermore, the projected drilling program expected over the next several years will provide lots of opportunity for players that play their cards right.
