Solar energy is no longer for the rich and famous according to a recent report from the Center for American Progress. Over the past few years, the cost for photovoltaic systems have been cut in half while model efficiency has also drastically improved. Solar power is competitive in a number of markets and with the recent advent of solar leasing, from companies like SolarCity (SCTY.DL) and SunPower Corp. (SPWR), renewable energy is available for the masses and at an affordable price tag.
