While many investors who follow Google (GOOGL 0.35%) may be excited about Google Glass, the company is now also developing a potentially game-changing medical device for diabetics, which will be worn as contact lenses.

In this video, Motley Fool health-care analyst David Williamson looks at Google's new concept, which would provide glucose readings for the patient once per second, giving diabetic patients a much more comfortable and up-to-the-minute method of monitoring blood glucose levels. While the concept is still in the early stages of development, the company has said it has already conducted multiple clinical research studies toward its goal.
