Americans are paying slightly more at the gas pump this week, according to an Energy Information Administration report released Monday. 

The national average price for regular gasoline clocked in at $3.549 per gallon Monday, down $0.002 from a week ago and $0.131 below the same time last year. Gulf Coast prices gained the most ($0.036), while Midwest prices dropped $0.023 for the only regional decrease. 

While gas prices increased, diesel prices took a dip, decreasing $0.015 over the past week to $3.988 per gallon. This latest price tag puts diesel just $0.018 per gallon below the same time last year. While all regions saw diesel prices drop this week, the East Coast got the biggest diesel discount ($0.023). Gulf Coast prices dropped the least ($0.003). 

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.823) while the East Coast has the most expensive diesel ($4.115). On the other end of the price range, the Gulf Coast can guzzle gas for just $3.319 and diesel for $3.80 per gallon.
