We’re done here.

Maybe you figured it out that we were having a bit of fun here at The Motley Fool with the barrage of failed logos below.

Our purpose at The Motley Fool is to make the world smarter, happier, and richer. Usually we aim to do all three with our annual April Fool’s joke. This year instead, we decided to joke around a bit to commemorate our birthday on June 30.

We hope our attempts at a new logo brought a smile to your face and made you a bit happier

Now let’s make you smarter and richer. Each of the logos below was an homage to a great-performing stock and teaches a lesson to help you thrive as an investor today and beyond. Click here to learn more

No matter what we do, someone has a problem with our new logo design. They're all, "Haven't I seen that before?" or "Shouldn't it be more original?" or "This is a legally binding cease-and-desist letter." Ugh. So for the last time, here's The Motley Fool's new logo. You happy? No? Neither are we:

We're going home. Email us at [email protected], or don't. Whatever. We're done.

Is there no pleasing you?

We’d like to thank members of our legal department here at The Motley Fool for contacting us and sharing their opinion on the new logo. We thought we’d nailed it, but legal gave us at least 13 reasons why we needed to change it.

But that’s OK, Fools! We were able to whip up another logo pretty quickly, and we really think you’re going to like it. (Orange is the new red!)

This logo gives us a prime opportunity to emphasize our vast selection of market coverage, and our speedy delivery of sound advice that kindles your passion for investing. Optimism has always been a tenet of how we invest at The Motley Fool, so our new logo’s ready to greet you with a smile. If you’re looking for the best credit card rates, or investing guidance in stocks, real estate, or private equity, or you just want to battle tiki gods, we’re here to offer you everything from Finance to Laughter.

We thought we'd nailed it.

Firstly, we want to thank everyone in our community for their feedback on the new Motley Fool logo we revealed earlier today. The response was immediate, passionate, and decidedly not enthusiastic. Many of you felt our new logo was too energetic, too heart-pounding. There were even claims that it made some of our members a bit jittery.

We were really hoping that logo would take the crown with our Foolish fans -- after all, stranger things have happened. But with grace and frankness, we took your feedback into account and returned to the drawing board. After a hectic design binge, we’re pleased to reveal our latest efforts at a refresh of The Motley Fool’s logo.

The Motley Fool began as a humble printed newsletter delivered to our members’ mailboxes. Over the years, we have embraced technology and adapted our business model to the digital era. Today, we deliver our investment advice online, to millions of investors all over the world -- even streaming 24-hour live video content. We believe this iteration reflects the almost cinematic scope of our vision for the future of The Motley Fool, while paying homage to our company’s history.

What do you think? As always, let us know at [email protected].

We thought we had it right.

The Motley Fool has been making the world smarter, happier, and richer since 1993. For 27 years, our business-focused, buy-and-hold approach has helped millions of investors navigate the stock market's ups and downs and benefit from its incredible long-term compounding power.

We're proud of our track record and the time-tested investment philosophy that supports it. But while we remain ardent advocates of long-term investing, we've found that this message no longer resonates with investors today.

We live in a world of record volatility and unprecedented uncertainty. A world of instant information and algorithmic trading. A world where investors can nimbly jump in and out of the market and pay zero commissions to do so.

Simply put, the world has changed. And The Motley Fool must change along with it.

We must be faster, more agile, more aggressive. And it all starts with the brand image we present to the world: our logo.

Our smiling jester logo has served us well for more than two decades. But it represents a simpler time, when investors performed painstaking research and held their shares patiently for many years. Who has time for that? Not us.

We're living on the bleeding edge now, chasing the next high, looking for the most explosive returns. Today, we're strapping a camera to our jester cap and shredding our way down a mountain of market uncertainty to present our extreme new logo, which we believe better conveys our thirst for amped-up, adrenaline-fueled investing:

The Motley Fool logo version one.

This new logo is our best representation of the new Motley Fool. Now is the time to pounce, Fools! We look forward to helping you sink your claws into those market-conquering returns that only come to totally aggro traders.
