Microsoft (MSFT 0.13%) could be a good fit for investors seeking stability during volatility. In this clip from "Ask Us Anything" on Motley Fool Live, recorded on May 4, Motley Fool contributor Jose Najarro explains why he has strong conviction on Microsoft's stock.
Jose Najarro: My second stock that I purchased is actually a big giant, and that is Microsoft. The reason I enjoy Microsoft so much, I feel like it's one of the perfect, if there was an ETF stock ever, it would be Microsoft because they hit so many markets. Let me just share my screen real quick. If we take a quick look at their most recent revenue, they grew 18%. The three markets that they hit are productivity and business, so the enterprise spending goes there. That was up 17%. They also hit the intelligent cloud. With me being very heavy in the semiconductor industry, I definitely see the huge growth in the clouding markets. Outside of just investing in semis, I like to invest into cloud providers. There's only a few giants out there, Microsoft being one of them. That was up 26%. As many might know, even though I don't game as much, I'm huge into gaming and the consumer market. With the more personal computing, I get some touch in the the gaming market and then your typical consumer products, and that was up 11%. We can see all three of those revenues are not equally weighed, but they're close to it, so I'm happy to be invested in Microsoft. Compared to my total portfolio size, this is about 7.8% of my total portfolio at the moment. Like I said, the stocks that I've been buying recently are the ones that I have the most conviction on. That's why if we're going to look at all the stocks that I'm buying, usually they're all over 5%. But I do have a big portfolio, which is pretty strange. I have, I want to say, about 50 holdings. There are some positions that I have lower percentage in. But at this current market rate where all stock prices are down, I tend to buy the ones I'm highly, highly convicted on, and that's why we're seeing the stocks that I'm purchasing usually via high percentage of my portfolio.
