Target Takes on Amazon and Costco in Subscription Business

Target Circle could drive more loyalty and expand the company's same-day shipping.

Target (TGT +0.36%) announced a new membership program recently that puts it in direct competition with Amazon (AMZN 1.08%) and Costco (COST 1.32%). It could be a way to increase loyalty and spending among Target's best customers.
