While some retailers have tried this in the past, and it's certainly not suitable for all types of retail goods, few have successfully executed the marriage of online shopping and an in-store experience. Macy's approach has created "a thousand ways to purchase" and move from one medium to the next seamlessly. Austin thinks many ailing retailers out there could take a page out of Macy's book.
