The PC market has seen its fair share of disappointments over the past two years. This year alone, what was arguably once the most important market in all of technology is set to contract by more than 10%, opening the door for a historic moment to take place. Many observers understood that tablets would eventually outsell their big-box brethren some day, and from the looks of it, that day is just around the corner. In fact, Research firm IDC recently made waves predicting that tablets will outsell PCs for the first time ever in the upcoming fourth quarter.
