The Department of Defense announced eight defense contracts Wednesday worth $198.4 million in aggregate. Among the companies receiving awards:
- Northrop Grumman (NOC -1.56%) won a $19.8 million cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to perform research and development work on the U.S. Army's Integrated Air and Missile Defense and Battle Command System through Sept. 30, 2015.
- Oshkosh (OSK -0.87%) was awarded a $9.5 million contract modification extending the deadline for the U.S. Army placing orders for its "family of medium tactical vehicles" trucks. The new deadline, May 15, 2014, was necessitated by a protest from a losing bidder who suspended the ordering process by 131 days back when the underlying contract awarded was first awarded, in 2009.
- Boeing (BA 0.25%) was awarded an $8.5 million firm-fixed-price delivery order to perform follow-on integrated logistics support and engineering work on the Harpoon/SLAM-ER Missile System and Harpoon Launch Systems for the U.S. Navy and various foreign military sales customers. The customers participating in the foreign military sales portion of this contract include Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, Egypt, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Oman, Pakistan, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Denmark, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Work on this delivery order should be complete by July 2014.
