It's time to thank the banks.

In this season of giving, we Fools are taking the time to remember those more fortunate than we are.

It's been about a year since the giblets hit the fan, so on this, the inaugural Banksgiving holiday season, we pause to remind Fools young and old that the true spirit of Banksgiving is banks-taking.

As you gather with family around the table, remember to give thanks to the banks that made this all possible. We're featuring some of their shenanigans in the articles below. Help yourself! There's plenty to go around:

An Open Letter to the Federal Reserve
In case you missed it, the Banksgiving celebration started a little early this year. If you think Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) makes a killing, just wait till you see our idea for a new bank … it's going to be all the rage for Banksgiving 2010!

The 10 Dumbest Banker Quotes of All Time
This was like picking the 10 happiest kids at Disney World. Rest assured that Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Citigroup (NYSE:C), and AIG (NYSE:AIG) were represented. But so was JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) ...

5 Banksgiving Day Turkeys
Unfortunately, these turkeys mostly gobbled up shareholder value, GDP, and subprime loans ... all with a side of taxpayer gravy.

Foolish New Slogans for Bad Old Banks
This is irony that even a third-grader (or Alanis Morissette) would get.

Citigroup Faces the U.S. Taxpayers
Well, we're all shareholders via the government's stake, so we wondered what would happen if, say, 100,000 of us showed up at the next shareholders' meeting and management took truth pills. Watch out, Fannie Mae (NYSE:FNM). You may be next!

The Banksgiving Day Video
Like athletes and musicians, we Fool HQ people just want to be movie stars. So we made a video in the Banksgiving spirit of cheap thrills at the banks' expense.

Do you know how hard it is to find a stunt double for Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), or enough make-up to make a human look like Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC)? If you have doubts about clicking, know that Ashton Kutcher called the video "no better than a school project produced by one of Demi's kids."

Have a wonderful Banksgiving and Thanksgiving, Fools!
