You wouldn't have known that spring officially made its entrance this week if you lived in the northeastern United States. However, some parts of the nation are seeing signs that the cold, dormant season of winter is on its way out. A few health-care stocks also appear to have shaken off the winter doldrums over the last few days.
One of this week's humongous health-care winners announced horrible financial results -- and still surged. Another benefited from an increase in an activist investor's power and from an international slap on the wrist for a company with a similar business model.
