Sierra Wireless' (SWIR +0.00%) stock performed tremendously in 2014, and even with a recent drop in the past two weeks its price is still up nearly 70% over the past 12 months.
But despite its massive gains, there's one potential trouble spot that investors should keep an eye on -- Sierra's Enterprise Solutions.
While the company makes the vast majority of its revenue from its OEM Solutions segment, Sierra's missing out on the opportunity to grow its enterprise business and sell more software to manage Internet of Things connections. This becomes even more important when you consider that its enterprise business has much higher margins that its OEM counterpart.
