U.S. Bancorp evidently didn’t get the memo about the headwinds facing the financial industry. Earlier today, the nation’s largest regional bank reported third-quarter earnings that were almost indistinguishable from both the second quarter, and the same period last year.

Bank of America's Earnings: Nothing to See Here, Folks
The nation’s second largest bank by assets reported earnings this morning for the three months that ended Sept. 30. While there were a fair number of both highs and lows scattered throughout the figures, it was altogether a boring quarter -- which is just fine by Bank of America.
